SEFU is a software security and communication platform which offers simple, easy to use, end user features that are tailor made for residential and commercial campuses and communities. The product also provides features for residents to communicate with each other, share and post information, send and receive alarms, etc.
Where do I download the SEFU app from?
Ans: Please download and install ‘SEFU’ app from App Store (‘iOS’) or Play Store (‘Android’) based on your mobile phone’s operating system. What would be the process for a visitor to enter our campus?
Ans: Using SEFU App, the security staff at the Gate will collect necessary information from the visitor and initiate an entry permission request from the Host resident who will confirm back with an Accept or Reject response. Based on the response the visitor is either allowed inside (ACCEPT case) or sent back (REJECT case).
What if me and my family members do not have a smart phone (Android or iOS phone) to use SEFU?
Ans. SEFU platform takes care of this situation. All important functions are handled through SMS and / or IVR communication for conventional or Button phones registered with the platform.
Is it a must for residents to download the app?
Ans. If the resident registers with a Smart phone (Android or Apple phone) they should download the SEFU app on their phones to enjoy the benefits of all features provided by the platform. However, the platform provides alternative means to ensure that the conventional or button phones can access and use the important features of the platform.
How can I add a tenant for my flat?
Ans: There will be one primary and once secondary contact numbers per flat. Whoever resides in the flat should be the primary contact as he / she will receive all notifications regarding visitor entry. Tenants being residents, would need to be registered on SEFU platform. They need to download and install SEFU app on their primary and secondary phones to be part of the security and communication platform. The tenants can register themselves, which is a simple process, or can take help of the Campus Admin to register.
Who can see my entry and exit logs?
Ans: The entry and exit logs are visible only through Administrator’s Console and can be downloaded as reports if that needs to be shared.
How can I ensure that I have the updated version of the App?
Ans: All minor updates of SEFU will be pushed automatically to the registered devices. Users will be prompted to restart their App to reflect the updates after a push. For any Major releases, the users will receive notifications from Play Store and App Store to download the updates on their phones. The latest version of the app is loaded automatically when the app is restarted by users.
What happens when the residents move out from the campus?
Ans: When a resident moves out of the campus, he / she should mandatorily inform the Campus Admin and ensure that the records are updated accordingly. This is necessary both from campus management perspective as well to ensure that no legal complexities arise in the future.
Does SEFU app provide pre-approvals to visitors?
Ans: SEFU platform has a comprehensive support for pre-approvals of visitors (Delivery and Guests), Child and Material exit from campus.
What are the important device configurations that I need to activate so that I don’t block myself of any service that SEFU platform provides?
Ans: The Notification ring tone will NOT work in Battery Saver mode, SEFU notification ringtone will not work if the phone is in silent mode; There is an option for residents to switch ON or OFF the SEFU Notification Ringtones using the Settings menu option on the app home page. Notification ringtones will not be recieved if this option is kept as OFF.
Can I switch off SEFU Notification ringtone when needed?
Ans: Yes, you may switch off SEFU Notification ringtone when need using the Settings menu option available on the app home page.
What should I do when I have forgotten my password?
Ans: You may use the Forgot Password option on the Login page to initiate the generation of a new password which will be sent to your registered email address. You will be able to login using this new password.
How do I know that I have the latest version of the app?
Ans: The version of the app is visible on the login page and also the main menu drawer of home page. To ensure you have latest version of the app, please close and open the app to fetch the latest version of the app automatically. Alternatively, you may go to the Play Store and App store to fetch the latest version.
Does SEFU use digital pass code or physical IDs for entry verification?
Ans: SEFU has adopted measure to eliminate malicious or ghost entries that can happen through human manipulation and information mis-representations. Also, Digital codes can be mistyped, misspelled or forgotten in many cases thereby inducing inaccuracies in the verification process. SEFU uses cross-verification of stored and real-time information which is augmented through physical records. This eliminates or minimizes interactions with the regular visitors which grossly reduces the scope of manipulation or misinterpretation.
What is the onboarding duration?
Ans: SEFU has an easy onboarding process and can be completed in a week.
How easy is SEFU platform for users, including senior citizens?
Ans: SEFU is an easy to use platform with a central menu to access the list of features. The platform has used minimal colors to ensure there is no challenge to elderly persons. The fonts used on labels and headers are kept reasonably large to be easily visible.
I am going out of town for a few days. How do I not receive any notifications?
Ans: If you are going out of town for few days and don’t want to receive notifications during that time, please inform Campus Admin and he /she will be able to use SEFU’s feature to stop notification for you. You will need to inform the Admin when you arrive back so that the notification feature can be reactivated for you again.
Will SEFU platform scan everyone coming inside the facility?
Ans: Yes, all the regular vendors and visitors, one-time visitors and guests, all community assets, and residents’ vehicles are scanned at entry and exit. The platform also supports scanning of residents and can be done at the discretion of the campus association.
Will SEFU be able to track Asset movements in and out of the facility?
Ans: Yes, SEFU has an Asset-tracking feature for this.
Will the platform be able to track security patrolling in the campus?
Ans: Yes. The solution can be setup to track movement of security staff inside the campus and reports of such movements can be viewed by the Admin or the association Management as required.
Will SEFU be able to provide reports of Vendors, Visitors and Asset entry and exit?
Ans: Yes. The reports are available to Admin who can share the same with the resident’s association or other eligible stakeholders..
Does SEFU have any feature that helps in raising alerts or seeking help in emergency situations?
Ans: Yes, campus residents and security staff can use the SEFU SOS feature of the app (red color icon on top of the home page) to raise alerts and seek help in emergency situations.
Is there any feature in the platform which can help residents communicate with each other?
Ans: Yes, the ChatBox and NewsFeed features of the platform would help the residents communicate with fellow residents of the campus. The Admin can use the platform to create Surveys on topics where consensus needs to be obtained.
What is the process of Login to SEFU?
Ans: After installation, please Open or Launch the SEFU app by clicking on the icon. You will be taken to the Login Screen. Please enter your Primary Mobile Phone number (10 digits) you had provided for registration. Your default password (please change after first login) is shared in the Welcome email sent to your registered email id. If you have not received your email, please check your spam folder or contact Admin for assistance. On submitting your first Login with your Phone number and default password, your phone will be verified through an OTP. Once successfully verified, your will be on SEFU’s default home page (NewsFeed page) and all set to use the SEFU platform. Residents will remain logged in to the app by default unless they explicitly log out. They do not need to re-login when they close and open the app each day.
What if I want to change my registered phone number?
Ans: For any changes in the registered phone number or other information, please submit the request to the Campus Admin. The Campus Admin will verify and update the same.
How can more than one member in a house login to the app?
Ans: More than one member of a house can login using the Primary registered phone number and the respective password. Notifications will be received on the phone which opened the app last.
